GIVING SIGNALS

You must give clear signals in good time so that other road users know what you are about to do. This is extremely important with HGV’s because other road users may be aware of the position you to move into:

• before turning left or right
• at roundabouts
• before reversing
• at roundabouts

By giving clear signals in good time other road users will:

• understand what you intend to do next
• take appropriate action

You should avoid:

• giving misleading signals
• forgetting to cancel signals
• waving vehicles or pedestrians to cross in front of your vehicle
