POSITION
A motorcycle has much greater flexibility in its positioning then most other road users.
As a general rule, in the absence of any particular hazards, a motorcycle should be positioned towards the centre of the lane. This position allows the rider to move to either side in the event of a hazard arising.

The correct position to be on the road at any time is the safest position. Good motorcyclists will always attempt to position themselves so as they have an escape route if something does go wrong.
The safest position should also be the most stable position on the road.
Good
motorcyclists will also strive to position themselves in order to get a
better view along the road, but they will never do so if it compromises
their safety.
- Keep to the left if you're going straight ahead or turning left
- Keep as close to the centre of the road as is safe when you're turning right
You should always follow lane markings as they make the best possible use of road space and they guide the traffic.
